  1. I suppose I am skeptical, inasmuch as the contact period history of indigenous epidemics indicates the indigenous population had not previously been inoculated to Old World diseases, and DNA evidence supports the Beringian hypothesis.

      Careful reading about the American populations implies they practiced better hygene than the Europeans. The Americans bathed every day, if they could. They moved their villages often, They lived outdoors if possible. They were not confined to cities.
      The “Old world diseases” were really germ warfare by Europeans, who tolerated the germs of the city they carried with them. The Americans did not tolerate the germs.
      Thus the invading English practiced germ warfare.
      The argument that the Americans were not Norse because of the “epidemics” should be replaced by the “Europeans” spread germs because they were filthy.
